Announcement regarding Summits Fall Coronet Tournament 2018

Greetings unto the populace of the Summits from Elizabeth Lions Blood:

The Prince and Princess of the Summits, Attila and Eleanor, have decreed that entrants into the Coronet List for the tournament to choose Their successors, along with their consorts, must have names and armory that are either registered or in submission. This missive is sent to help those of you who wish to enter this list but have not yet submitted these items to do so before the tournament.

First, registered names and armory can be found in the Ordinary and Armorial. Your name printed on your SCA Membership card is not heraldic registration. The requirement is that you have actually done your submission forms and sent them into the Kingdom Submissions Herald (that's me). Forms can be submitted in a number of different ways! You can either:

  1. Mail the forms along with a check or money order to the Submissions Clerk: An Tir College of Heralds, PO Box 2379, Corvallis OR 97339. Checks or money orders must be made out to "An Tir College of Heralds" in the amount of $10 per item submitted. A name and device submitted together, for example, costs $20.
  2. Find an event with a full consult table. We are working on having at least one of these available in the Summits before Fall Coronet. Watch event announcements for information on when these might be happening! When you go to a full consult table, please make sure you have your check or money order with you, as the table may not under any circumstances accept cash.
  3. Attend a consultation evening or day with the Kingdom Submissions Herald (again, that's me). There will be one of these happening at my apartment in the Barony of Adiantum on July 10 and another in August. Contact me at lionsblood@antir.org if you need directions. If you'd like to host a consultation day or evening closer to your branch, email lionsblood@antir.org and we will arrange to bring the consultation to you. Forms and money can be handed directly to me at these events and they will be presented on the next internal letter.

Second, if you don't have time to attend a consultation event, you can consult with your local branch herald. "But my branch doesn't have a herald, what do I do?" you may ask. Well, you are in luck. An Tir and the Known World have a whole host of heralds waiting to help you! There are three Facebook groups that can help: Bleu Grael Heraldry Chat, An Tir Heralds and SCA Heraldry Chat. You can also email summitsherald@antir.org, lionsblood@antir.org, or aestel@antir.org, and one of those heralds can help you directly to find good resources for what you want to submit. An Tir also has a web page for its College; you can find it directly at http://antirheralds.org.

If you are a branch herald or herald-at-large and need help, any of the above resources are also available to you to get help.

The internal letter publication dates will be as follows: July 1, August 1, September 1. Submissions received after September 1 will not have time to make it onto an internal letter and may not count for the requirement. Please plan ahead!

We look forward to assisting the populace of the Summits register suitable and unique names and arms!

In service to the Crown of An Tir and the An Tir College of Heralds,
Viscountess Elizabeth Turner de Carlisle, GdS, JdL
